we picked up the bike on saturday afternoon, and for the next couple hours i attempted to clip into my pedals. later that evening i jumped back on and once again attempted clipping in. after many frustrating tries, we decided to give it a night and see if i would wake up the next morning with a miraculous ability to actually clip into my bike.
so this morning i gave it another go around and decided this just wasn't going to happen. well to come to find out, we hadn't installed the pedals entirely correct. thank goodness, because i was beginning to believe that we were going to have to return the bike since i was incapable of even getting on the bike. this takes me back to the last post about my decreasing lack of coordination.
we ended up taking the bike back up to the store, had someone help us and left the store with my confidence a little higher. we rode around our neighborhood for a bit and i was feeling positive, so we took to the streets. forewarning shawnee residents, i'm a little shaky so please don't hit me :)
but regardless of all the initial frustrations, my short little ride today has me very excited and motivated. plus, i managed to not fall off yet, so i'm pretty pumped!
we forgot to take some pictures of me in my sweet spandex shorts and helmet, but here are some pictures of the bike. my bike is the small grayish black one and matt's is the white bike.

That's a good lookin' bike Heather. Glad your first experience with the clip pedals went well. However, I'm secretly hoping that you end up falling a few times so I can feel better about myself:). If it doesn't happen, I'll just blame it on the fact that your bike is much closer to the ground than mine. HA! Not because I'm clumsy AT ALL. Nope, that's not it. Definitely that my bike is taller.
