Yoga Pro

I'm becoming a yoga pro.  Ok, ok.  So maybe I'm exaggerating just a bit.  Ok, maybe a whole lot.  But regardless, I have started doing yoga and I love it.

Several months ago a group of us at my work decided we should start having yoga sessions during the lunch hour, especially since we found out one of the guys we work with is an actual yoga instructor.  How convenient.

I'd only done yoga a few times in the past, but knew this was definitely something I wanted to try, plus, I already had a yoga mat from the times before when I probably swore this was something I would actual stick with.  Yank, yank.

So far it's been going really good.  We gather every Tuesday and Thursday.  The turn-out has been great and I think a lot of us are really starting to see results and the benefits.  It really helps to calm me, which I need with my high-stress and I-need-it-right-now-deadline-driven job.

I'm starting to understand how the different poses stretch and strengthen the various muscles.  But I think what I'm enjoying the most is taking an hour out of my day to focus on myself and to block out all the craziness that can be my job.

I would recommend everyone adding a little yoga into your life.  So, as they say at the end of every yoga session - Namaste.

  1. These pictures just made me laugh out loud! I can see Matt taking these of you:). You look so serious in the first one! I really need to try yoga again, it's just so repetitive!

  2. Those pictures are funny! I couldn't tell if they were self timer pics or not!

I've never done yoga...maybe I should give it a shot!

  3. HA! Ok, so Matt actually helped me out and took these pictures! Can you imagine us setting up this little scene?! The reason for the serious face is so that I didn't fall out of the pose before Matt could take the picture - I had to concentrate very hard!!
