Winter Blues

*Note - this was written before the fabulous 50 degree weather graced us with its presence this weekend.  So, my "winter blues" are slowing melting away...he he.

Yes, I know, everyone has the winter blues.  However, I'm just choosing to share my sorrows with you while I'm looking out my window at views like this....
and this...
I'm really longing for a warm summer day that looks something more like this....
Until then, I'll just dream, and pretend to be warm while my body continuously shivers down to my core. Blah.  And to top it off, my winter blues always start getting me down on everything.  From my clothes, to the food we're cooking, and now onto my blog.

I've come to the realization that my blog just is-what-it-is. And that is - simply a space for me to give updates on our semi-boring life for our family and friends, and to sometimes throw in a few home decorating ideas and new recipes.  I've come across a bunch of neat blogs lately that are constantly updated and super creative.  My blog is only frequently updated and not really all that creative.  I honestly think this is because I work on a computer all day and the last thing I want to do is come home and jump back on another computer.  But maybe that's just an excuse.

The other common factor of these cool blogs are their great photos, which mine greatly lacks.  I would love to go out and purchase a brand spankin' new SLR camera [like the one shown below], but the truth is that we just don't have the money at this time.  Yes, you can see the pity party starting, uh?
But, what it all really boils down to is that I become super lazy after the holidays and when the nasty, cold weather settles in.  I have things I could blog about, but that means putting out a little effort, when all I really want to do is snuggle under a pile of blankets and hope that the snow outside magically disappears.  As you can tell, my winter blues really make me a cheerful person.

However, after writing this, I am slowing learning to appreciate my blog, and just happy that I have found a means of sharing our everyday shenanigans with those we love. Many of you have told me how you enjoy reading the blog and like seeing what's going on in our life since we can't visit with each other all that often.  That right there is what motivates me, and also makes me warm inside knowing that others really do enjoy the blog even if it's simple with so-so photography and very topic-scattered.

So now the countdown is on for Spring, especially so I can rid myself of these terrible winter blues!

Oh, and I just caught this taking place...lazy Sunday!
