Let me first say, I do really like the look of wood, but I like dark, pretty wood. Not light, worn-out, beat-up, ugly wood. Let's just say, we happen to have the latter. I spent all fall and winter of 2009 painting every piece of trim in our house. It was exhausting, but completely worth it. It's amazing the difference and how light our house is now compared to when we moved in. Here's a little comparison...So. Much. Light.Wood.
So, I took the same approach to our bathroom cabinets. I painted our guest bathroom cabinets this past fall and had been waiting for an open weekend to paint the master bathroom cabinets. Well by golly, I had some free time this weekend and jumped on the opportunity, especially since I decided our bedroom walls could remain untouched, for now.
Here is a before and after of the guest bathroom...
And here's the master bathroom before...
In the process...
And the final product...Ta-da!
So as I said, another one bites the dust and gets marked off the list, but there's plenty more to do. We definitely have more projects up our sleeves in making this house exactly what we want, and I'm enjoying every minute of it!

WOW! I can't believe what a difference the white makes! It looks great Heather!!
ReplyDeleteAgreed, it looks great!
ReplyDeleteI agree as well, but you are absolutely nuts with how much you like to paint!
ReplyDeleteMan you have been a busy lady! When are you coming over to our place... can you make our apartment into a 2-bedroom? :-)
