all I want for christmas....

....is a lovely house all decorated in festive Christmas decor! Thought I should give a short tour of our Christmas decorations.

First off, our tree.  I decided to give it a theme this year by using all red and white.  We have an assortment of ornaments, from shatterproof plastic to glass to real candycanes. Topped off with some sparkly garland and a quirky star.  Now all the tree needs is some nicely wrapped presents all snuggled underneath.
Here are Matt and Sophie assembling the tree
Here I am in all my glory
Hey, those are supposed to be for the tree
Ta-da!
Now, you may ask, what did you do with the rest of your ornaments?  Well, put up a second tree of course.  My mom let us borrow their mini 4-foot tree to display our childhood and other random ornaments.  This little guy makes me smile.
On down to our family room, we have some pretty red berry garland adorning our mantel with our stockings all hung in a row...any one else, besides just me, starting to recite 'Twas the Night Before Christmas in your head right now?  Anywho, we also received a forest of cute little trees from my mom, which sit beside our family of metal reindeer.
Oh, and here is my faux fur throw/rug.
You may remember me mentioning how I planned to make some of these...well, as you can imagine, if I haven't had time to blog, you better believe I haven't made time to create faux fur throws.  However, I do still intend to make them, it just might be in the middle of the summer.  My mom happened upon this one at Sam's Club for a good price so I had her grab it.  I love it.  It's super soft and so cozy.  Neeko and Sophie like it too.
I didn't want to leave our blah hallway out of the holiday fun, so I used a door hook to hang this berry wreath over our hall mirror.  Matt thinks I'm going overboard, I think it looks great.
If you've started to notice a theme of RED in our decorations, then you've nailed it. Hey, we like the color red.  Hence, our red accent walls and all of our red everyday-decorations.  Why stop when we get to our Christmas decorations?

We also put up lights outside, but you've got to be kidding if you think I was going to brave the cold just for a couple pictures to post on my blog.  Let's just say, we're what you'd call, bush people.  That's right, we stick to only putting lights on our bushes.  Maybe one of these years we'll go crazy and become house people too.

So, that essentially takes us to the end of the tour.  We do have some other nick-nacks placed around, and I can't forget to mention our small collection of nut crackers...Matt loved these as a child.

Happy holidays from the Ledbetters!
