trip to Mexico

Well hello blog world!  Long time no talk.  My lack of consistant blogging shouldn't be news to anyone who actually still checks in to see if I'm alive.  Have just had a lot going on, including, a trip to Mexico.

I'm going to let the pictures do most of the talking in this post, and there's a lot of them, because 1) they are more interesting than words, and 2) work is really busy and I don't have much time to type up every detail.  So, here we go!

Right after the first of the year, my parents graciously flew us and my brother down to Cancun for a week of relaxation and fun in the sun.  The resort we stayed at was called the Beach Palace and it's part of the Palace Resorts line.  It was a beautiful resort.  A little smaller than some I've been too, but that was definitely part of its charm.

Here are a few pictures of the resort and our room.
We didn't plan much while we were there because I think everyone just needed some time at the beach to relax and read some good books.  However, we did get some massages, manicures, pedicures and visited Chichen Itza - the location of an ancient Mayan city.  Here are pictures from that.
The resort put on a different show every night.  They had a Michael Jackson show, a fire/drums show, a movie night, and casino night.  All very neat and entertaining.  The resort did a really good job with their nightly entertainment.
We had a wonderful time.  I discovered a new delicious drink, Mango Tango, which is a combination of a frozen mango drink and frozen strawberry daiquiri - yum, yum - and finished the second book in the Hunger Games. Wished we had just a few more days down there, especially since the weather was perfect, but, all good things must come to an end.  Here's to hoping another beach vacation is in my near future.  Thanks mom and dad for an awesome, much-needed vacation!
