That's right. Matt and I have a new roomie...Ryan (my bro) has moved in with us for the summer. Here he is this morning getting his coffee ready. He wasn't thrilled that I was taking his picture at 6:30 am, but I said come on! It's for the blog. Ha - I even made him hold his badge. Once again, not thrilled :)
He got an internship with State Street, which is a great company and an amazing opportunity for him. The only problem is that State Street is located downtown and our parents live WAY out south. Meaning, it would take Ryan a day-and-a-half to get to work. Ok, not really, but still at least a 45 minute + ride morning and night. And that's only if there aren't any wreaks and it doesn't rain, because that could bump the ride time to 1 hour or more. Not to mention just driving on I-35 each day can make you crazy and want to pull out your hair. Trust me, I did it for about 6 months and decided that was enough and moved out to western Shawnee. So, Ryan decided to shack up with us for the summer since our house is much easier to commute from.
I think he has adjusted pretty easily to his new, temporary abode, but as a college student, that's usually not too difficult. It's not till we get older - ugh, I just hit the 2.8. yesterday - that we become picky and need plenty of space with an expensive mattress and 600-thread count sheets. All Ryan was looking for was a place to lay his head at night, a fridge to cool his beer, and a sturdy dresser for his massive TV.
Not sure if he knows it, but Matt and I are really enjoying having him stay with us. It's been a long time since Ryan and I have lived in the same house and it's great to be under the same roof again, even if it's only for a few months. Now, if only I could talk him into helping out with some of the cleaning :)
Anyone have fun things planned for Father's Day? I think we're going out for brunch on Sunday to celebrate an absolutely amazing, wonderful and caring man in my life - my daddy!! Happy Friday everyone!
